Welcome to my Blog!

My life has been a journey of self discovery filled with lots of uncertainties, but never lacking passion. I've spent the last decade or so trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up. Photography never crossed my mind because I didn't think I had the creativity or talent to pull it off. Lucky for me a few years ago, my husband, who's always in the know of all things technology, bought me my first big girl Canon camera when all I asked for was an upgraded point & shoot. I started playing around and soon discovered I did have a smidgen of creativity and talent. Add that with a bit of passion and here I am!

Thank you for visiting me!

Layne Family

Myhien wanted to do a shoot for Kai's 1 year back in October, but we couldn't make it work despite trying a few times. It was either the weather or sickness that got in the way, but we finally nailed down a date in December! We met up between Kai's nap time to make sure she was well-rested and happy during the shoot. It was a little windy and cold, but Kai was a perfect model for me. She's such a cutie pie!

Cousin Mason came to along to play.

Wednesday

Featured on On To Baby!

I am beyond ecstatic that On To Baby is featuring Dylan's Super Hero themed birthday party on their blog today! Never in a million years did I think I would be featured on such an inspiring site as On To Baby! Check out my feature here!

Eeeep! I'm still squealing with excitement and there are way to many exclamation points today! :)

Tuesday

Sydney's Christmas Tree

Sydney helped her Mama and Auntie Annie decorate their Christmas tree over the weekend.  This will be Sydster's second Christmas, but now she's old enough to join in on the Christmas fun.  She is going to be spoiled with so many gifts.  Her Aunties & Uncles are working on a special gift for her.  I can't wait to give it to her!

Sunday

Aquarium of the Pacific

Last weekend Sydney and Kai had another play date and Sydney got to meet Kai's cousin, Mason. We all went to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach and the kids had fun roaming around. The only bummer was the rain, but it stopped long enough for us to go outside and look at the sharks. Sydney loved dipping her hands in the shark tank. Don't worry, the sharks don't bite! It's perfectly safe for people to stick their hands in and pet the sharks. She loves playing with water so this was a fantastic spot for her.

After the Aquarium we all headed over to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. It was my first time and it didn't disappoint. Delicious fried chicken! You must try it if you're in the area.

I love the look on Sydney's face in this one. We just got there and she was still checking out her surroundings. It didn't take long for her to realize she could run around.

Here she is having the time of her life splashing the water.

Three lovely families. I can't believe all of the kids were looking in my general direction.

Friday

Baby Logan

Baby Logan was due for some photos so his mom, Chau and I arranged to shoot at their house. It was a cloudy day, but we got together before the rain came down so we were able to catch some nice light in their courtyard. Chau is super laid-back and didn't plan on taking Logan out of his pj's. I'm so glad she didn't because he looked adorable in his Paul Frank jammies and beanie. Logan happily hung out and let me take his picture. Made my job super easy!

By the way, I 2nd shot Chau's wedding with my sister a few years ago and now they have a baby! Time really flies! Enjoy and don't forget about the SLIDESHOW!

We snuck in a few shots of Logan's cousins Christian & Helena.

Sunday

Escota Family

I met Maryann back in our high school days. We kept in touch through Myspace, then Facebook, but never got the chance to get together. We even had a whole conversation on Myspace about our quarter-life crisis a few years ago. We laughed about how we still don't know what we're doing despite being a few years older. I don't get to see Maryann often and I wish I did. She's super sweet and has a beautiful family. I was excited to finally meet her husband, Brando and 2 year old Braden for the first time and catch up a little.

We almost cancelled because of the weather, but thankfully the sun came out of the clouds for our shoot. Braden is a curious boy who is definitely boss. He let us know what he wanted to do and when he wanted to do it. He dictated the shoot and even gave me some directions on where to go to shoot. :) Apparently, he knew what he was doing and did a great job of directing us adults. The shoot was fun and I think we got some good stuff!

Enjoy the photos and don't forget the SLIDESHOW!

Thursday

Bath Time

The Munchkin's mom says Munchie's favorite time is bath time. I've helped with bath time a few times and I adore it. Watching Munchie have an amazing time in the bath reminds me to stop and enjoy the simple things. As adults, we get stressed out with work, family, activities and we find it so difficult to stop to relax. We should be like babies and climb into a bath every once in a while and chill out.
